Learning/Developmental Disorders

A learning disability assessment is available at no charge through the public schools if your child is having significant academic difficulties.  However, there are times when your child may not qualify for special education assistance or his/her learning problems may be more complex and require a more comprehensive evaluation than the school district can provide.  In these cases, it would be appropriate to perform a cognitive evaluation through this office.  In addition, there are types of treatment for learning problems that are not offered by the school district and appropriate recommendations and referrals can be made based on the results of a cognitive evaluation.

Key Benefits

  • This is a more detailed assessment compared to that which is performed by the school district.

  • Allows for more specific and detailed treatment recommendations.
