Dr. Tristao obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science at the University of California, Davis. She completed an internship at Green Chimney’s Children’s Services in New York, a residential treatment center and residential treatment facility serving emotionally injured children. She earned both her master’s and doctoral degrees, in clinical psychology, at the California School of Professional Psychology (CSPP) at Alliant International University in Fresno, CA. She completed her dissertation on the impact of caregivers’ evaluation of their children’s sensory processing difficulties on the parent-child relationship. She also completed a graduate certificate program in Infant-Preschooler Mental Health at CSPP.
During graduate school she gained experience in a variety of outpatient and inpatient settings including; public schools, an inpatient psychiatric hospital, and community mental health clinics. In her Pre-Doctoral Internship Dr. Tristao worked at the W. Gary Cannon Psychological Service Center in Fresno with a diverse population including children and families, as well as adults. She provided individual therapy, group therapy and couples therapy, as well as assessment. For her Post-Doctoral Fellowship Dr. Tristao provided psychological services to community college students. She has been a licensed clinical psychologist since 2019 and worked at the Sullivan Center for Children prior to private practice.
Dr. Tristao provides individual therapy to children, adolescents and adults.
